How to delete your account

This page is about the mobile application Gift & Meet, published by Gift&Meet LLC. It is here so that you can find out how to delete your account, and what that does, without installing anything.
1 · From inside the application
This is the whole procedure, and there is nobody to write to:
- Open Gift & Meet and go to the You tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete my account.
- Read what it is about to do, and confirm.
It happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no form.
2 · What deleting does
- Your profile, photographs, videos and messages stop being visible and are deleted.
- Your favourites, winks, blocks and support threads are emptied.
- Gestures pending on you are declined, and the full amounts return to the people who sent them. Nothing is left charged against an account that no longer exists.
- Open conversations are ended, so nobody is left waiting for an answer that will never come.
- Roses that are already yours stay yours. The redemption code belongs to the city and is held by the partner florist, not by your account, so it still works. The application shows you your live codes before you leave — write them down first.
3 · If you cannot get into the application
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code, so if you no longer have that number you cannot get in by yourself.
Write to legal@giftandmeet.com and tell us the phone number the account uses. We will ask you to show that it was yours before we delete anything — deleting somebody's account because a stranger asked for it is a worse failure than making you prove it. We answer within one month.
4 · What survives, and why
Deleting your account does not erase these, and the reason is written next to each one:
- Transaction records, because tax and accounting law requires us to keep them. They are not a profile and they are not shown to anybody.
- A report somebody made about you, because otherwise leaving and coming back would be the way out of every consequence.
- Records tied to a legal claim, for as long as it is open.
The periods are in section 9 of the Privacy Policy, and what deletion means in the contract is section 14 of the Terms and Conditions.
5 · Deleting the data without deleting the account
You do not have to leave to get something removed. You can replace your photographs, your bio and your interests from the editor at any time, and you can turn your visibility off so that nobody finds you while you keep the account. If you want a copy of your data, or you want something corrected rather than deleted, section 10 of the Privacy Policy says how to ask.
